About Our Services

Lowry Ophthalmology offers General Ophthalmology services, including routine eye exams and contact lens and glasses fitting. We have a complete optical shop staffed by an optician. Our practice has a wide variety of contacts and frames including designer frames.

Lowry Ophthalmology has been providing quality LASIK and PRK for over a decade. Due to advances in laser technology, we can now correct most patients with myopia (nearsightedness) and hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. Our state of the art VISX S4 laser is located in our facility. The laser is important, but more important is the physician performing the surgery. Dr. Lowry performs a thorough examination before the procedure, during the procedure and for the entire post operative follow up. It's this continuity of care that provides excellent Lasik and PRK results at Lowry Ophthalmology.

Laser Vision Technology used by Dr. Lowry
Lowry Ophthalmology offers custom WaveScanTM Lasik using our in-office VISX S4 laser with Iris Registration technology. When combining this technology with Dr. Lowry's experience in performing over 8000 LASIK procedures, you can rest assured you've made the best choice for you... and your vision.

PRK (Photo-Refractive Keratectomy)
This procedure uses the same Visx4 laser to perform refractive surgery on the surface of the cornea, without the use of the corneal flap. The main indication for PRK is in the patients without enough corneal thickness to utilize a corneal flap.

LASIK (Laser Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis)
In this popular procedure, the Visx S4 laser is used to reshape the cornea under a thin corneal flap. The hinged flap is then moved aside to reshape the cornea using the Excimer laser. The flap is then repositioned and adheres back to the underlying cornea. The entire procedure generally takes less than 5 minutes per eye. It is very common for our patients to drive themselves back to our office the day following surgery without the use of contacts or glasses. Many patients are able to return to work the day after this procedure.

If you are looking for experience and an eye care team you can trust, call Lowry Ophthalmology. We are accepting new patients everyday. If you are interested in learning more about refractive surgery and are curious if you are a candidate you may attend a LASIK seminar or call our office to schedule a no cost, no obligation evaluation for you. Laser refractive surgery is the technology of the future and it is available today!
