Mulitfocal Lens Implant/ IOL

Traditional intraocular lens implants (IOLs) that are placed in the eye at the time of cataract surgery are only designed for vision at a fixed distance. With these IOLs, patients must use reading glasses or bifocals in order to see at close range. Multifocal IOLs can give a full range of vision from up close to far away without glasses. In order for these lenses to work well, the eye should be otherwise healthy to achieve the best vision with this technology.
